Arlington is a city located in Snohomish County, Washington, USA. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 11,713.
The city owns the Arlington Municipal Airport (IATA airport code AWO), which is home to Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection and the annual Northwest EAA Fly-In. The airport is three miles southwest of the city.
The city is also home to the Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum.
Arlington is located at 48°10'52" North, 122°8'20" West (48.181101, -122.138955).
Arlington is situated in the Stilliguamish Valley, at the junction of the North and South Forks of the Stilliguamish River, at the base of the Cascade Range.
Arlington is accessible via Interstate 5, Washington State Route 530, and Washington State Route 9.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 19.6 km2 (7.6 mi2), none of which is covered with water.
As of the census of 2000, there are 11,713 people, 4,281 households, and 3,095 families residing in the city. The population density is 598.2/km2 (1,548.4/mi2). There are 4,516 housing units at an average density of 230.6/km2 (597.0/mi2). The racial makeup of the city is 90.01% White, 2.20% African American, 1.13% Native American, 1.04% Asian, 0.32% Pacific Islander, 2.47% from other races, and 2.83% from two or more races. 5.83% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 4,281 households out of which 42.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.7% are married couples living together, 11.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% are non-families. 22.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.72 and the average family size is 3.19.

Arlington was officially incorporated on May 20, 1903. Founded by J.W McLeod, the city was named after Henry Bennet, the 1st Earl of Arlington. At the time of incorporation, the city's population was approximately 800. The city evolved out of a tiny settlement named Haller City.
